2020 and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic have changed life for essentially everyone. In a recent article titled “The Hand We’ve Been Dealt” – which was featured in the September 2021 edition of Valley Lawyer magazine – Attorney Robert Castillo of Wax & Wax, A Law Corporation shared some insight into his own experiences. As his legal work shifted to a remote forum, he found himself gaining a new perspective on not just his career, but also on life overall.
In his article, Robert discusses the strange first days of pandemic lockdowns, adjusting to new routines, and the troubles that come with learning new technologies like Zoom. He also talked about some of the things he misses, like seeing people in person when working on a case, including opposing counsel. Even though their objectives were contradictory, it was still nice to see them, and he wishes them all well.
Overall, the pandemic and the other major hardships of 2020 have been challenging, but Robert has kept his chin up and rose to those challenges. He sees everything as a lesson and an opportunity to grow.
